Programs for Adults with Disabilties
Anixter Center has proudly served hundreds of thousands of people in the Chicago area since 1919. Today, we focus our work on serving people with disabilities, mental health needs, and people who are Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing through a variety of programs.
ASL Classes
CHS provides American Sign Language classes for those looking to learn or improve their sign language skills.
Education And Training
CHS offers a variety of opportunities for you to learn and connect as we provide education, training and advocacy.
Community Support
CHS provides support services including advocacy, case management, counseling, crisis intervention, education and information & referral.
Domestic Violence Program
CHS provides crisis intervention and advocacy services for victims and additional support services including short-term counseling.
Parent Support
CHS provides parent support ensuring that children with identified hearing loss and their families receive the necessary resources, advocacy, information, services and support.
Youth and Family Connections
CHS offers a variety of youth and mentoring programs statewide for youth and their families at home, in school and in the community.
Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing Services
The DeafBlind Community Program is a collaboration between our community and state partners to create a dedicated service geared specifically for the DeafBlind and low vision community with hearing loss to ensure equal access to services and programs throughout the state of Illinois.
